Dear Breathing Room Friends,
In the words of Martin Luther King, Jr., “Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve.” For those of us at The Breathing Room Foundation these words inspire us to accept the challenge and grasp the opportunity towards serving members of our community dealing with a loved one’s treatment for cancer. On MLK Day, January 21, 2013 we ask you and your children to join us utilizing the inspiration of Reverend King to serve the needs of our neighbors. We would like to suggest the following projects that can be performed with parents and children working together:
- Prepare a home cooked meal to comfort a family after a long day at the hospital or doctor’s visits.
- Support our Valentine’s Day Program by creating handmade cards or crafts to share with our families in February.
- Share your knitting or sewing skills by making a colorful throw to warm a .]BRF Friend during treatment
Please contact the BRF for more info. Thank you for your continued support of the BRF families!
***UPDATE!!!
Here are some pictures of the North Penn High School Basketball team, who donated and prepared 100 snack bags to be distributed to Breathing Room Families! For the First Annual MLK Day of Service promoted by the Breathing Room, at least 10 other people cooked, sewed, or made Valentine’s Day cards for our families. Thanks so much to everyone for your support!
