WE ARE HERE FOR THEM!
GIVING “BREATHING ROOM”
SOMETIMES IT’S THE LITTLE THINGS
359 families received comfort packages.
Maria is only 26 years old and in treatment for a blood cancer. She has two very young children, just 2 months and 6 years old. Maria was diagnosed just before delivering her second child. She and her husband struggled financially prior to her cancer diagnosis, and with the added burden of transportation to appointments, medical co-pays and the needs of her newborn child, the family had difficulty affording their basic needs. Through the BRF’s Comfort Program and Children’s Programs, we were able to provide the family with regular deliveries of diapers and wipes, clothing for the children, snacks, groceries, and home cooked meals. In addition, the family received Thanksgiving dinner, Holiday gifts, Easter baskets, Valentine treats, summer fun activities, and school supplies through our Children’s Programs.
“Thank you for helping my family and putting smiles on my son’s face.” Maria – Blood Cancer
OFTEN IT’S THE BASIC NECESSITIES
125 families received support valued at $24,000 to give them
groceries, toiletries, paper products and cleaning supplies.
“Thank you so much for the Walmart gift card. They are so greatly
appreciated and a great help. God bless everyone at the BRF for the kindness and caring for cancer patients.” Thanks again. Love, Margie C. – Breast Cancer
“Your kindness and generosity are so greatly appreciated. This is such a terrible time in my life and the days are so much brighter with your help. Just knowing there are great people doing such wonderful work for others, gives me hope and strengthens me for the future.
Thank you with all my heart.” Tammy I. – Metastatic Lymphoma CANCER IS OFTEN FINANCIALLY DEVASTATING
61 families received support with rent and utilities.
Sandra is a 26 year old mother of 2 in treatment for metastatic breast cancer. She had fallen behind on her cell phone bill and she lost her service. This was her only way of being contacted by her healthcare team and staying in touch with her family. BRF was able to make the necessary payment to get her phone turned back on and to cover the following 2 months, giving Sandra peace of mind.
“I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your help! You helped me in my time of need, when no one else could.” Sandra – Breast Cancer
LACK OF RELIABLE AND SAFE TRANSPORTATION RESULTS IN MISSED APPOINTMENTS
AND AN INTERRUPTION IN TREATMENT
303 individuals received 2450 rides to treatment.
“I have to thank you again for this transportation program! It has been a huge relief to many of our patients who don’t always have rides to their treatments.”
