Paying forward support for BRF families.

For one family, participating in the Valley Road Run every year keeps them doing something Sean Mitchell loved, and allows his family and friends to celebrate his memory and support others. Sean was a beloved Breathing Room participant, and his wife Sarah shares WHY her team still supports the Valley Road Run every year, even after his death.

“We are very excited for our team, Miles for Mitchell, to participate in the Valley Road Run in support of the Breathing Room Foundation again this September! I am super proud to share that proceeds from our team’s registration/donations/sponsorships will be used to establish the Sean P. Mitchell Memorial Fund. Through the Breathing Room Foundation, these funds will be used to grant support to families in Bucks County affected by cancer, specifically those with young children at home.

The Breathing Room Foundation is an incredible organization that did so much for our family when Sean was first diagnosed. They offered us things that we didn’t even know we needed, often just dropping them at our doorstep. When you’re so thick in the weeds of a new diagnosis, these acts of kindness are so impactful – especially when you also have young kids. I am so grateful to the Breathing Room for partnering with me in such a meaningful way. We are going to be able to help support so many families affected by cancer within our own community – starting with this walk!

He really loved this walk and being able to help give back to the BRF. Henry, Annie and I are so grateful for everyone’s generosity as we continue to remember and honor their dad every single day.”

We at BRF love to see Sarah, Henry, and Annie at the Valley Road Run every year, along with their whole team decked out in Eagles gear in memory of Sean and his favorite team (go birds!!!). They are also hosting a blood drive with the American Red Cross again – check it out if you would like to sign up to donate blood! September 24th 2026 at the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Bristol.

The Valley Road Run is our favorite event – it’s an amazing fundraiser for Breathing Room families, but it’s also an opportunity for us to connect with our community, celebrate loved ones we have lost, and move forward together with the determination of ensuring that no family fights cancer alone.
