Building a Legacy
January 2026
Whether you’re learning about Breathing Room for the first time, or have been a long-time supporter, please take a moment to view our story. It speaks to our mission, our work, the community built by you, our amazing supporters, and of course – Diane’s legacy.
As Diane’s daughter Lauren Langan shares: “My mom was diagnosed with cancer when I was very young. And she was the type of person who built community. As she was going through her cancer treatment and meeting people through her journey who were also battling cancer, she recognized that many of them didn’t have the home support that she had. And so she built that home for everyone in the community to get the support she got through her journey.”
That community has evolved into the Breathing Room that we know today. Thank you for being part of our community, for being the support for others who need it on their journey, and for continuing Diane’s legacy, every day.
A huge thank you to John Newman for sharing the Breathing Room’s message! John Newman is a Philadelphia-based filmmaker passionate about telling real-world, human-centered stories. He works as a camera operator for the Philadelphia Phillies and as an Assistant Director on broadcast commercials in the Greater Philadelphia Area, while also running Tenacity Films, a production company that helps organizations bring their stories to life.
